About Us
The Food Forest Cooperative (FFC) is a locally operated sustainable enterprise with a purpose to provide fresh, locally grown, culturally relevant foods to the community through ancestral and regenerative farming practices.
A food forest is a multi-layered regenerative approach to growing food, including different varieties of fruit trees, herbs, and medicinal plants. The intent is for all plants to be edible or used to create value added products with a cultural and community driven focus. Currently, the food forest is home to over 400 plants. We honor the Indigenous plants, medicines, and foods that are culturally rooted and adapted to our climate.
The co-owners of the Food Forest Cooperative are a group of organic growers that hold stewardship as a core value in an effort to build and restore the integrity of the soil. Through growing food, building microclimates, providing shade, and caring for the plants, we support the surrounding ecosystem and community that we serve. Our hope is to create a space for community members to join us in protecting and participating in our local foodways.
